Inspection Checklist

Mark each item PASS, FAIL or N/A. FAIL items can have a note and severity rating.

1 Tyres & Wheels
Tread depth measured on each tyre — record minimum
Tyre pressures checked and adjusted on all axles
Wheel nut torque check (visual indicators or torque wrench)
Hub temperature check after road test
No abnormal wear pattern indicating alignment issue
2 Brakes
Brake pad/lining wear measured on accessible wheels
Brake drum/disc visual inspection — no cracks or scoring
Brake hoses and lines visually inspected
Slack adjuster operation checked (drum brakes)
Park brake hold test on incline
ABS warning system tested
3 Lights & Electrical
All exterior lights tested at trailer plug
All reflectors clean and intact
Trailer plug (7-pin or 15-pin) clean and undamaged
Suzie air-lines free of cracks or kinks
Cable looms inspected for chafing
4 Coupling & Landing Gear
King pin gauge measurement (where due)
King pin grease applied
Landing gear operation tested under load
Landing gear feet free of damage
Safety chains intact (where fitted)
5 Suspension & Axles
Suspension bushes and shackles visually checked
U-bolts torqued (visual check)
Air bags (if fitted) free of leaks
Axle alignment visual check (no signs of dog-tracking)
Spring shackles inspected for cracks
6 Air System
Air dryer cartridge inspected
Reservoir tanks drained of moisture
No leaks at any union or fitting
Air-line couplings free of damage
7 Structure & Body
Chassis frame inspected — no visible cracks
Cross members secure
Mud flaps and side guards inspected
Spare wheel and carrier serviceable
Lashing rings and load anchorages inspected
